Today, I have a little time for myself, my friends are at work, so I've decided to be 'tourist for a day'. I've been a few times up the Empire State, So I don't feel like doing it again.

Katie told me about the Top of the Rock, new highlight in town. People can now go up the Rockefeller Center, and enjoy the city from up there.

I believe it's about the same as going up the Empire state, but from the top of the Rock, you can enjoy the Empire state, which of course you can't from the Empire itself!

So I'll try the Rock today!

Today is a week day, and it's so freaking cold out. I'm about the only insane person to go up there.

The admission is $18, but if you decide to take a combo ticket you'll get to the top of the Rock plus in the MoMa for just $30 instead of $38 or something. So that's what I chose. I wanted to do the MoMa also.

Going up to the top, you have to take an elevator, and when you do so, you should watch the top of the elevator, there's a little surprise!!

Going up about 90 stories in less than a minute, it's always very impressive!

When at the top, there are 3 different levels you can access. The first one is where you have the souvenir shop (where they sell the same old crap as in any touristy place!).

You can watch the view from the inside of the building, or go out on terrasses. When it's freezing out, it's nice to be inside and still enjoy a great view, but you see much better when you are out.

It's impressive to be so high and have the city right at your feet. The view was very clear.

I actually have a tip for you, the next time you want to get up there (or up the empire state as well), prefer a day after it rained. the sky will be brighter, clearer, no smog... You'll have the best view ever. You'll see all the way from Jersey to Brooklyn, and all around!

When you are up there, you can see all the reservoirs on the roofs of buildings. This is one of the trademarks of the city. NYC is flat, andreservoirs are necessary on every roo, for people to have enough water pressure.

I spent about an hour there, taking my time... freezing my ass there (it's was already cold down in the city, but up here, the wind is deadly cold!!!!!) , but really enjoying the city from above!

OK, done, time for me to get back down to the streets of the city!
